The River to River Runners Club was established in 1984 as an outgrowth of the Herrin Road Runners to promote running and fitness in Southern Illinois. Organizing and conducting quality running events has been the Club’s primary goal since its inception. An equally important objective; however, is to encourage running as sport and healthful exercise, and to support activities which educate the community about the importance of physical fitness. To further these goals, the River to River Runners now boasts a membership of over 400 and includes individuals from ten different states.

Naval Station Norfolk is the world’s largest naval station, supporting 75 ships and 134 aircraft alongside 14 piers and 11 aircraft hangars.

The base houses the largest concentration of U.S. Navy forces. Air Operations conducts an average of 275 flights per day or one every six minutes. It is the hub for Navy logistics going to the European and Central Command theaters of operations, and to the Caribbean.
